Coasters from ”Strips & Stripes”

Stand out from the crowd. This is not another mass-manufactured, molded plastic gadget. These coasters are individually laser-cut in plywood from selected Finnish birch. It´s a cumbersome process however the unique and crisp result speaks for itself. Hungarian ZsuZsanna Horvath is based in Finland, and her design-studio ”Strips & Stripes” operates in a universe between geometry, architecture and design. This with the purpose of creating modern and minimalistic interior and design and jewelry. In this process ZsuZsanne has found laser-cutting to be a powerful tool to create these fine and delicate shapes which we get to enjoy as coasters, trivets and jewelry.

Whilst the coaster and trivets falls naturally within the assortment of Culture Me, the jewelry seems a bit out of scope. Why we choose to carry a limited assortment of the exquisite ear-hangers from ”Strips & Stripes” still is because besides being incredibly beautiful they are manufactured out of the surplus material from the production of coasters and trivets which supports our focus on environmental sustainability and desire to minimize waste from production.
