Finnish design with a twist

Tonfisk Design is based in Turku, Finland, and was founded in 1999 by Irishman Brian Keaney and Finn Tony Alfström. Their mission was clear: to prove that "form follows function" doesn't mean all objects have to look the same. Tonfisk is known for their original approach to tableware, often mixing cool porcelain with organic materials like wood and cork, creating a unique and warm expression.

Innovative use of materials

A hallmark of Tonfisk is the smart functionality hidden within the design. A great example is their popular Nokka oil & vinegar set, where the long spout ensures a drip-free pour, and the cork stopper keeps the contents fresh. Similarly, the Shadow carafe and Murska mortar showcase the brand's ability to rethink classic kitchen tools, making them beautiful enough to display on the dining table.
